Carmel Swim Academy is one part of the larger Carmel Swim Club community. Carmel Swim Club’s mission is teaching excellence through swimming, for life. CSA offers a doorway to swimming through dynamic aquatics programming, including group swim lessons. To date, we’ve shared the stories of 13 Carmel Swim Club alumni. These videos detail the lasting impact swimming––particularly swimming with Carmel––has on their lives. The overall takeaway? The relationships you forge in the pool, with your coaches, teammates, and yourself, provide an enduring touchstone throughout life. Though diverse in their experiences each of these swimmers would encourage your family to “test the waters” and give swimming a try.

Early Spring 2021 Series
- Kiernan McGeehan: For Kiernan, his experience with Carmel Swim Club led to a “domino effect” on the rest of his life – leading him to a career based in supporting others.
- Veronica Burchill: Veronica is pursuing her professional swimming career as a member of the ISL Cali Condors. She is proud of the way CSC developed her not just as an athlete, but as an individual.
- Becky Flaherty: Becky values the strength in connections she forged not just with her teammates at Carmel Swim Club, but across entire families. Everyone shows up and can be counted on.
- Ali Pylitt: Ali works as a physical therapist with Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana. Spring 2020 found her assisting COVID patients with their recovery and drawing upon Courage and Perseverance daily.
- Claire Adams: The most important lesson Claire learned at Carmel Swim Club is how to be her own best advocate. Now embarking on a teaching career, Claire works to instill that strength of voice in her young students.
- Alicia and Vic Schleich: Alicia and Vic remind athletes to trust the process and appreciate the relationships you forge in the pool. Those connections have a lasting positive impact.
