Carmel Swim Academy is delighted to share an exciting update to our swim lessons with you: all sessions will now run on a consistent, five-week calendar. Why are we making this change? To make life easier for YOU and your family! You can now have consistent expectations for planning, experience a consistent cadence for registration, and enjoy consistent and clear pricing from one session to the next. Read on for more details and to see all of our upcoming session and registration dates for the year ahead.
In the past, we adjusted session lengths to fit around major holidays and the local school calendar, but we found three week sessions here and seven week sessions there were difficult for both families and our staff to navigate. Moreover, we serve students from more than 40 local zip codes: there is not one single school-based calendar that will align for all of the families we work with. This also allows us to add consistency to our makeup policy: every session, customers can receive up to two makeup tokens for classes missed due to illness, travel, or other obligations.
Yes, there are days in here that we won’t offer classes: Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and the Fourth of July for example. Your tuition will automatically be prorated to only reflect the classes offered within the session as you check out. We will remind you of those closures as registration opens and sessions begin. Our Junior Swim League will continue to operate on a longer ten-week session calendar, but you will find that those sessions line up with registration and paired group swim lesson dates.
While we’re shouting about this change from the rooftops, let’s not lose sight of what is staying the same: you can still expect to be part of the best swim lessons near you. Our proprietary curriculum, based on more than 50 years of experience in the sport of swimming through our connection with Carmel Swim Club, remains untouched. Our class ratios remain the lowest around and our class durations are a bit longer, meaning your child gets more instructional and skill practice time each lesson. We continue to be session-based; CSA does not automatically re-enroll you from one session to the next. We love being part of your family’s routine, but understand busy schedules mean your availability to swim with us is dynamic. Finally, our pricing per class is not changing. We will continue to offer classes for $37 each for children ages six and younger, and $42 each for children ages seven and older. Now, it’s just easier to understand how that translates to a single session, which is how tuition is charged.
