On Monday, October 12, we will temporarily close the Carmel Swim Academy facility to perform planned maintenance. All programming will shift to the Carmel High School Natatorium Complex during this closure. We realize going to CHS is a lot different than going to CSA, and we wanted to provide you with a comprehensive guide to preemptively answer any questions you have. This post contains significant information about accessing the Carmel High School campus, parking, where to enter the building, how to navigate to your program, and where to watch classes.
LOCATION
The Carmel High School Natatorium Complex is located on the Northside of the CHS campus. You should access campus from the Stadium Drive Entrance off of Smoky Row Road/136th Street. You can access the campus after 4:30 PM. If you try to get on campus earlier, you will be blocked by departing bus and student traffic. Please click the map below for details. The pin is dropped at the entrance for the pool, Door 22.
PARKING
There are two parking lots immediately north of the Natatorium, across Stadium Drive from the soccer stadium. Please plan to utilize these lots. There is NO PARKING in the circle drive near Door 21.
Carmel High School is a busy, well-used campus. Please note that there maybe other activities taking place that can make parking a little limited. Looking ahead at the athletics schedule, we know that there is a Girls Basketball scrimmage at 7 PM on Tuesday, October 27, and Girls Basketball games at 6 and 7:30 PM on Thursday, November 5, which will increase traffic and parking demand around these lots. If you run into issues finding a place to park, we recommend driving towards the west side of the building and parking at the Freshman Center. From there, you can walk along the sidewalk to the Natatorium.
ENTRY AND WHERE TO GO ONCE INSIDE
Enter the Natatorium Complex through Door 22. You will proceed down the hallway. CSA staff will greet you and direct you to the doors to the pool. You will wait with your swimmer at these doors for your child’s class to be called.
SWIM LESSON LOCATIONS
The CHS Natatorium Complex has five pools in total! All Caregiver-Child classes will be in the warming pool, all Hydros 1, 2, and 3 classes and all Neptune 1 classes will be in the therapy pool. All Neptune 3, Triton, Poseidon, and Junior Swim League classes will be in the South Pool. Neptune 2 classes will be divided between the therapy and South pools. CSA staff will direct your swimmer exactly where to go!
WHERE TO WATCH + RESTROOM INFORMATION
In accordance with USA Swimming rules, no parents are allowed on the pool deck. You can watch your child’s lesson from the stands. Lessons in the warming pool and therapy pool can be viewed from the North Pool stands. Lessons in the South Pool can be viewed from the South Pool stands. You will collect your swimmer at the entry door to the pool, where you met before classes started, when their class concludes. There is no locker room or shower access at the CHS Natatorium. Restrooms are available in the Door 22 hallway before the pool doors. You are welcome to have your swimmer change in the restroom after their class.
