This month, we’d like to introduce you to Kara Davis! Kara works with CSA as both a lifeguard and swim instructor. We asked her a few questions so you could get to know Kara better.

How did you start working with Carmel Swim Academy?
“Having swam competitively for 11 years, I know quite a bit about swimming and coaching. I decided I wanted to work in a more professional environment and went to work for the Carmel Swim Academy.”

How would you describe the culture at Carmel Swim Academy?
“The staff here at CSA is amazing. I truly enjoy working with everyone. Everyone here is experienced, professional, and passionate about their job.”

Why do you think swim lessons are important?
“I consider swim lessons to be extremely important, no matter what age you are. Knowing how to swim can save your life, or the life of a loved one. I have taught students of all ages including adults… It is never too late to learn how to swim!”

What do you like best about working for the Carmel Swim Academy?
“What I like most about teaching at CSA is seeing the students conquer their fear of the water, going under and getting their face wet for the first time, teaching the different swimming strokes, and the smiles on their faces when they accomplish a task. It is very rewarding for me to watch these kids advance to the next level.”

What made you want to work at the Carmel Swim Academy?
“I wanted to work at the CSA because of the rich history of their  swim club. It all starts with swim lessons at a young age, developing their stroke technique, and working their way up through the age groups. I have to wonder… am I teaching a future Olympian? Anything is possible!”
