This month, we’d like to introduce you to Penny Carter. Penny wears many hats at Carmel Swim Academy: she serves as a deck supervisor, she lifeguards, and she teaches swim lessons! We asked her a few questions so you could get to know her better.

Why did you start working for Carmel Swim Academy?
“I started working for CSA after reading about the program and its progression into club swimming and diving. I’m also an aquatics major and can’t seem to stay away from the pool.”

How would you describe the culture at CSA?
“I would describe the culture at CSA as smooth, respectful, and fun.”

Why do you think swim lessons are important?
“I think swim lessons are important because drowning is the number one leading cause of accidental death in children. I myself needed to be rescued as a child before starting lessons.”

What do you like most about working at CSA?
“What I like most about working at CSA is the environment and energy. I’m happy to come to work and look forward to interacting with parents, students, and staff.”
