This month, we’d like to introduce you to Anna Sears! Anna has worked at Carmel Swim Academy as an instructor for four years. We asked her a few questions so you could get to know her better.
Why did you start working for CSA?
I came to CSA because I grew up in Carmel Swim Club and that made such a positive influence in my life I wanted to try and make that same impact on the next generation.
How would you describe the culture at CSA?
I would describe the culture at CSA as very collaborative and caring. We all care for the kids we get to teach and help each other along the way. It has been very impactful to meet so many wonderful instructors who all have unique ways to go about teaching. I also think swim lessons are always fun!
Why do you think swim lessons are important?
I think swim lessons are important for a couple of reasons. The first and foremost to be comfortable in the water and for the parents to feel comfortable having their kids in the water. The second is to give kids an opportunity to learn something challenging and build the confidence to do hard things. It is also a fun outlet to meet other kids, swim with their friends, and make lasting connections.
What do you like most about working at CSA?
What I like most about teaching at CSA is building relationships with my kids and watching their improvements. I get very excited when I’ve worked with a child from session to session and see how much they have improved!
